When I sit down with a seller to put their home on the market, the question that always comes up is “What do I think of Open Houses?”
I think they are very helpful to the seller in giving them a target date to have their home ready to hit the market looking its best. Statistics show that not many homes sell through an Open House - but some do. If I sincerely believed Open Houses were the most efficient way to sell homes, I would do one every single day!
It seems more lately than not, sellers are asking me not to hold an Open House. The Sellers want serious buyers going through their home; buyers who have gone through the process of talking with a lender to see how much home they qualify for. Getting your home ready for an open house is a lot of work to only accomodate “looky loos” and curious neighbors.
My question to sellers is “How efficient do you feel Open Houses are?” I’d love to hear your opinion and feedback.
